Becoming a member is where it all begins. With your annual membership, you are able to select a board to oversee the planning and coordination of all events and vote on how PTA funds will be used during the school year. Also, your money helps fund nearly all PTA resources and activities. Joining the PTA is simple: it only requires purchasing membership (membership is only for the current school year and must be renewed annually if you wish to continue to be a member in future years).​​​​

Why did membership dues increase from $10 to $20? Last year, at the general meeting of the PTA members, the PTA members voted to increase the membership dues to increase the amount that would go back to the Newland PTA for direct use at our school. Previously, only $4.40 went directly to our school! With this increase, the breakdown of the new $20 membership dues is as follows:  $2.25 to the National PTA $2.00 to the California State PTA $1.00 to the Fourth District of the California State PTA $0.35 to the Huntington Union Council $14.40 to Newland PTA to be used directly at our school

Donations are the heart and soul of funding for our PTA. From supplemental resources for teachers, field trips, assemblies, community events, and so much more, these things couldn’t happen without you. Please be aware, membership is sold separately so the donation packages below DO NOT include PTA membership. Why?

When we include memberships in the donation packages, we are required to give a large sum of each such membership to various district and state-level PTAs, which means less of your donation goes directly to Newland Elementary. By separating membership from donation packages, we're able to use the funds you donate for direct impact at Newland Elementary. So, while we are grateful for all our memberships, we truly appreciate all of our Bottlenose, Orca, and Narwhal donations because they give us the critical funds that go directly to our school. Plus, they come with great perks, too!
