Payment by check? While we encourage donations to be made through the links above for easy tracking, we're also happy to accept checks:

Please make checks payable to "Newland PTA", and if the donation is on behalf of a specific student, be sure to include the student's name in the memo line.

IMPORTANT: The 5th Grade Camp Committee is responsible for tracking all donations, so it's essential that checks be turned in to your 5th grade teacher or to the school front office with instructions to place the check in Mrs. Kitahara's mailbox (not the Newland PTA's mailbox). This process ensures donations are properly recorded and credited to the correct student--and helps us avoid any misplaced checks.

WHY CAMP MATTERS?

5th grade camp is more than just a few days away from home—it’s a milestone experience. For many students, it’s their first real taste of independence, teamwork, and outdoor adventure. At camp, kids learn life skills that can’t be taught in a classroom: Hands-on science and nature learning – hiking, exploring ecosystems, and seeing lessons from textbooks come alive. Teamwork and leadership – living, learning, and problem-solving together builds confidence and cooperation. Resilience and independence – being away from home helps students grow in maturity and self-reliance. Memories that last a lifetime – camp often becomes one of the most cherished parts of elementary school. For many children, 5th grade camp is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that sparks curiosity, builds friendships, and strengthens their sense of self. That’s why making sure every student who wants to attend can attend is so important.

VOLUNTEERS MAKE CAMP POSSIBLE

Sometimes, giving your time can make an even bigger impact than giving money. Volunteering helps us raise critical funds for 5th grade camp—and we can’t do it without you! We have opportunities big and small. Please click below to learn more and get involved—together, we can make camp a reality for every 5th grader!

NO CAMPER LEFT BEHIND

Every child who wants to go to camp deserves the chance to go--no matter their family's financial situation. To make this possible, we rely on fundraising. But fundraising alone doesn't always cover the full cost. That's why we're reaching out to parents: If you're able or know anyone who may want to help, please consider contributing a little extra. Together, we can ensure that every student who dreams of camp gets to experience it this year!
